Planning Blog for Music Video

 Props: Our props are going to be minimal, possibly consisting of smaller ornamental items and background developers, but nothing serious.


Costumes: In our music video, we will be opting for the more “normal”, plainclothes costumes seen in soft rock music videos. This choice was made both as a reaction to the song we are using, which does not give itself to the intensity seen elsewhere, and as a choice regarding the comfort and accessibility of the actors. The costume itself will likely consist of a simple T-shirt and shorts or jeans, possibly with other alterations such as a hat or jacket. Our subjects are likely going to be only one of our group members, though another may make an appearance in a background capacity for various reasons.


Schedule: On 11/12/21, our group performed research into the conventions and stylistic similarities for our music video project.

On 11/15/21 our group will discuss our costumes, filming plans, and schedules, among other details.

On 11/17/21 and 11/19/21, our group will develop and finalize our storyboard for our music video project.

Our filming will be completed sometime between 11/26/21 and 12/13/21, and by 12/13 our project will be submitted.

On 12/17, my group will complete a reflection on the Music Video project.


Location List: Our discussions regarding location have not yet been finalized. For the time being, we have decided on several core aspects, such as the location being relatively devoid of people and activity. However, the specifics of the locale are still being decided on- some contenders include a railway near the house of either of our group members, or one of our neighborhoods. If these locations are unavailable on the day we originally intended to film, we will reconvene at these locations on another date and try again. In order to prepare for this possibility, our initial filming date will be far enough away from the due date to where we will have ample time to meet again if there is a failure.

Filming 1 for Commercial Project

  Today my group did the first part of our filming for the commercial project. The filming was done outside, on our school's track. I was the primary actor in our project, since there are only two of us. When we began filming, we first had to work out the minutiae of how we wanted to handle everything procedurally- if we were to take shots in order or do all of the running shots first, then the drinking shots, then the Gatorade. We also worked out where our cameraman would be standing for each shot and how he would be panning or zooming. After these details were settled, we began filming. We'd decided on doing the running first, so we did a few different takes for each section. There are 3 main shots of running in the first half, so we took these shots first. Filming Blog for Final Project: Base Shots

  Due to time constraints posed by group members, we couldn't film many shots, so we filmed the few shots that took place in the area meant to be the Base in the actual film. To achieve the effect that my group was picturing, we used a nearby crafts store to acquire materials that we would use to create elements of the set that would perpetuate the futuristic aesthetic my group was aiming to create. I personally participated in the sketching and tracing of these materials while my groupmates helped arrange them. Since I finished my task before theirs, I helped look for some resources online which could create the radar effect that figured heavily into some of our scenes. I found several resources but there was one which was the obvious superior, so I went with that option as the one that my group would use.   How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones? There are a total of 29 titles displayed during the opening sequences of Code 8, including individual acting credits and individual personal titles. The first title displayed is the name of the studio, followed by associated studios, the production company’s credit, various acting credits, the credits of the casting directors, and the visual effects supervisor. After this comes the credit for the creator of the music, the costume designer, the editor, the production designer, the director of photography, the co-producer and associate producers, various executive producers, the lead producer, the creators of the story and screenplay, the director, and finally, the movie title.
