Scene 1: This scene begins with extreme close-ups on the actor's eyes and facial expressions and shifts between the two. There will not be much background definition, and it will last for three to five seconds. Scene 2: This scene will consist primarily of a wide shot of the actor walking down a railroad, and will pan to follow the actor as they curve further along the track. It will last for several seconds longer than the last. Scene 3: This scene will begin with a low angle shot and will move further up the actor's profile until the focus is on the sun. This scene will be roughly as long as the one preceding it, and will be filmed fairly far away. Scene 4: This scene will be a still shot of the actor sitting on a curb and will be flashed very quickly (~2-3 seconds) to serve as a placeholder between two more dynamic scenes. Scene 5: This scene will return to the shot of the sun before the still was shown, and the sun will subtly fade into a shot of a lit streetlamp, with the

Props: Our props are going to be minimal, possibly consisting of smaller ornamental items and background developers, but nothing serious. Costumes: In our music video, we will be opting for the more “normal”, plainclothes costumes seen in soft rock music videos. This choice was made both as a reaction to the song we are using, which does not give itself to the intensity seen elsewhere, and as a choice regarding the comfort and accessibility of the actors. The costume itself will likely consist of a simple T-shirt and shorts or jeans, possibly with other alterations such as a hat or jacket. Our subjects are likely going to be only one of our group members, though another may make an appearance in a background capacity for various reasons. Schedule: On 11/12/21, our group performed research into the conventions and stylistic similarities for our music video project. On 11/15/21 our group will discuss our costumes, filming plans, and schedules, among other details. On 11/17/21 and 11/19

For our music video, my group decided on using a song in the soft rock genre. These songs are wide ranging in terms of their content and "feel", but we are angling towards the more classical rock end of the spectrum. Conventions: In these types of music videos, one can often see a sense of exhaustion or jadedness and increased emotional representation.  CAMS: There is also a variety of camera angles and movements used in these types of music videos. Most frequent are shots which insert the viewer in the subject's perspective, such as over the shoulder shots. Other shots  are co mmonly used, usually to instill a sense that the subject is an equal to and aware of the viewer. Shots used in this capacity include: Wide shots Low angles  Extreme close ups Eye level shots Long shots Sound: The sound- being the music itself- is usually either performed by the artist themselves and they are the focal point of the video, or it is played in conjunction with the story of the video to

For the Music Video Project, I'm going to be partnering up with the same person I worked with on the Commercial Project, Jack Strien. Jack and I have already worked together on two larger-scale assignments (one of which was the Commercial) and several small ones and by now we fully know that we have a mutually beneficial dynamic when it comes to the effort we each put in and energy we put out. He and I both are committed to putting in work to complete any form of assignment as soon and efficiently and effectively as possible. We also want to fairly split the work, which is good as it doesn't end up with one of us doing all the other work and the other slacking off and still getting a good grade. Overall he and I have a mutually beneficial approach to how we handle our assignments and projects, and we work well together. I also trust his work to be worthy of a good grade- I still don't trust the quality of the work which most of my classmates submit, and this can make grou

My name is Jacob Vanzile, but I prefer to go by Jake. I'm in 11th grade and this is my first year in AICE Media. Truth be told, this course wasn't exactly what I thought it was- I was under the impression that it was more focused on studying how forms of media affect our lives and the various opinions within them, rather than a class solely regarding filming and film terms. However, I decided to stick with it rather than transferring out, as I thought it could still be interesting. I like to read, write, and draw and have played tennis for about eight years. I do play on the school team when it is in season, and I also play recreationally and practice outside of the school. In my house, we watch movies very frequently, so that was definitely an easy way this class could be applied to my everyday life. My mom was also interested and still is in what I'm learning in this class, because she minored in film in college. I only need one more AICE credit in order to complete th
